Frye Island has an interesting history being named after Captain Joseph Frye. The legend goes that Captain Joseph Frye escaped from a tribe of Native Americans. Frye Island is home to several majestic waterfront properties and Independence Day is the most celebrated holiday on the island complete with epic fireworks that can be seen either on land or on a boat.
